Who Needs a Nigeria Visa?

Nigeria Tourist Visa Validity
The Nigerian tourist visa is one of three visa types in the Tourist/Transit/Visiting category. The Tourist visa is issued for tourism purposes only and does not permit applicants to work or engage in any other activities during their stay.
The Tourist visa is a single-entry visa valid for no more than 90 days from the date of issue. Tourist visa holders can stay in Nigeria for a period not exceeding three (3) months.
Nigeria Tourist Visa Requirements
To apply for a Nigerian tourist visa, all applicants are required to submit the following documents:
A valid passport
The applicant should hold a passport valid for at least 6 months that contains two blank pages for official use.
Two (2) personal photographs
The applicant is required to submit two recent, passport-sized personal photos (35mm x 40mm).
A complete application form
Applicants can complete their visa form online or at the nearest Nigerian embassy or consulate.
Return/onward ticket
Tickets should be issued by an accredited airline or travel agency. The departure date must be within the validity period of the tourist visa.
Proof of subsistence
Applicants must be able to support themselves financially for the duration of their stay in Nigeria.
Proof of accommodation
A hotel booking, host address, or other accommodation reservation is sufficient to fulfill this requirement.
Nigeria Tourist Visa Application
Nigerian tourist visa applications can be submitted through a Nigerian foreign mission (embassy or consulate) or online through the Nigerian Immigration Services electronic portal.

- Start the online application
Applicants must visit the official online visa portal and select the “Entry Visa/Visa Free Zone” option to get started.ion.
- Create an account and log in
Applicants should create a secure login for their account and proceed to the correct form.
- Complete the online application
All information submitted online should be accurate and complete. Applicants should complete the form online and print it out once finished. They will receive an application ID and reference number.
- Pay the visa fee
Visa fees can be paid online with a valid credit or debit card. A money order can also be used in some cases, depending on the location of the application submission. Applicants will use their application ID and reference number to make the payment.
- Print confirmation documents
Applicants must print their Visa Payment Slip and Visa Acknowledgement form once their payment is accepted. Applicants that pay by money order must wait until the payment is received and confirmed.
- Schedule a biometric appointment (if applicable)
Depending on the location of submission, some applicants may be asked to attend an appointment and/or interview to submit their biometric data and additional information.
- Receive a decision
Applicants will receive the eVisa by email. They can download and print this document before traveling. New tourist visa holders should verify the information on their visa to ensure it matches their passport.
Sticker visa
- Make an appointment at the nearest embassy or consulate (if applicable)
If needed, applicants should schedule an appointment with the relevant officials.
- Submit the visa application materials
Applicants will visit their nearest foreign mission to submit their application form and all required materials.
- Pay the visa fee
Applicants will pay the visa fee in person at the Nigerian embassy or consulate. Payment methods will vary depending on where they submit the application.
- Await a decision
If approved, applicants will be able to collect their passports with the new visa stuck inside. New tourist visa holders should verify the information on their visa to ensure it matches their passport.
Nigeria Tourist Visa Interview
Applicants who submit their tourist visa application may be required to attend an interview. If so, they must be familiar with their travel itinerary, planned accommodation, and any confirmed activities.

If they applied through an embassy or consulate, and the visa is approved, the applicant will go to the same foreign mission where they applied to retrieve the approved visa that is stamped inside their passport.
